Rivermead is proud of its links with the Woodley community. The school has been part of  Woodley since the 1939, when   it  was a secondary school. It was later converted for use as a primary school, and has since started many of our local     community on their path to "fame and fortune". One of current Teaching Assistants was once a pupil, and many of our  children are second generation pupils.

The school plays host to a number of local events and groups:

The annual fireworks display, run by the scouts, is staged on our large field. This is well attended and a popular venue for November 5th for many local families.

The Woodley Light Operatic Society rehearse for their shows in our hall and provide entertainment for the governors at their evening meetings!

The WASPS (Woodley After School Play Scheme) is based in school and provides care for children from a number of schools from end-of-school until 6 pm.

Local scouts and their families will be familiar with the Scout Shop which operates from our school grounds.
